TESTIMONIALS
Freedom is possible.
“For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm, you plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
“I met Cheryl in the winter of 2021 while in an inpatient rehab program that she volunteers for. Once a week we attended her Celebrate Recovery program. After a yearlong tenure, I graduated from the program but still found myself struggling with alcohol and destructive behaviors. In the spring of 2022, I had a very serious relapse, resulting in a weeklong stay in the detox unit of the hospital. When I got out, I got a text from Cheryl asking if I was ok, if I needed help. I was very surprised, because I felt rejected by my normal support system when in the midst of relapsing. I took Cheryl up on her offer, not knowing how much she would change my perspective on mentoring and sponsorship through a real hands-on recovery process. She walked with me every step of the way (and still continues to) through very hard issues in my life. Never being afraid to do some dirty work. Cheryl has also proven to me that Christ really does live through good people in the world. Cheryl lives, breathes, and walks Christ centered recovery, and has shown me, that it is possible to overcome some of the worst hurdle’s life can throw my way. She has taught me how to trust people again.”
“I have had very many traumatic situations in my life due to the job that I have chosen for my career, and also losing my mother and best friend to sudden death. I met Cheryl on a professional level and started talking with her here and there. When Cheryl expressed to me about becoming a life coach I became very interested and was willing to give it a chance. I have since been meeting with Cheryl for almost a year, and the outcome and understanding that I have received from her is outstanding and has helped me in my journeys and continuing to push forward in life. Her encouragement and advice have helped me through many tough situations in this past year. The fact that Cheryl takes the time to sit and listen and then gives feedback is one of the many reasons that I feel she is doing this, she loves it, it’s not just her job. My best advice to anyone that reads this, is if you are going through a tough time in life and just need someone to talk to, who is actually willing to listen, then Cheryl is the person for the job.”
“Cheryl has coached me from the very beginning of her coaching career. She has a way of getting to the core of where a mindset block may be, asking the right questions to help break through a barrier into moving forward in that area of her life. As she’s coached me throughout the past few years, there’s been tears and there’s been laughter, but what stands true is her heart for helping others. Thank you for helping me process so many things in life.”
“I would highly recommend Cheryl as a life coach. She has helped me a lot over the past year in dealing with some of life’s obstacles. She is very professional and mentors with integrity and privacy.”
“I met Cheryl in 2020. She has been an encourager, and rock through many events that have happened in the last several years. The biggest help is her perspective on things.”
“I have been a long time sufferer of anxiety and depression. I couldn’t see past my mistakes. Cheryl would always take me to where it started. Either something I was believing or couldn’t see past my pain. It was always taken to what God had to say about the situation or myself. Cheryl knew the right questions to ask, “could I control what was happening, who or what was involved.” It’s a matter of looking at things differently. To me it always seemed impossible to get past the pain or the hurt. Things I had struggled with for years, lies I believed about myself. Things I had battled for years. Cheryl helped me find the answers. It’s amazing to me how a few questions and statements and my life was changed instantly.
What she does works. I recommend Cheryl to everyone.”
“I have known Cheryl for many years. She has helped me through my recovery journey in many ways. She knows when to ask the hard questions and when to challenge and push. She knows when and how to offer encouragement. Without Cheryl’s help, encouragement and guidance I would not be where I am or the person I am today. If you need someone to help you get through the difficult things and times in your life I highly recommend you give Cheryl’s life coaching a try.”
“My name is Kim and I am a recovering addict. I have dealt with depression and anxiety and I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. I am also recovering from self harm.
I currently am celebrating 11 years free from self harm and seven years sobriety.
I would try several times to get sobriety but I kept relapsing. I would never get serious about my recovery. I relapsed three times on cocaine. One relapse occurred after being clean for ten years. I had not hit my bottom.
One night when driving I was pulled over by the police because my tail light was out. I was drunk and I was high. By the grace of God I never went to jail. It was then I knew I had had enough. I walked into a celebrate recovery completely broken.
Even though I knew I had had enough I would not take my recovery seriously. It got to the point I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. It was time to get serious. I started attending Celebrate Recovery at Calvary Assembly. It was there I met Cheryl. Cheryl met me with a warm smile and a hug. Cheryl would pour into my life always pointing me to God. We began working on my emotions from my past abuse. I began to slowly start healing. I could not, however, forgive my abusers for what they had put me through. Cheryl and I with God by my side would slowly peel the layers off.
I was able to eventually forgive my abusers but most importantly forgive myself.
I would not be where I am today if it had not been for Cheryl. Her encouragement and love helped me in my journey. She would make me so mad at times I would cry but always went back. She was not only speaking God’s truth into my life but the reality of the way it was supposed to be. Correcting me when I was wrong and guiding me in the right direction even though there were times I wouldn’t listen. Cheryl never gave up on me and I am forever grateful to be able to call her my friend.”
“She has helped me with my recovery. I was on the brink of relapse. Cheryl’s direction, care and concern is what brought me back. I was also suicidal at this point in my life. She saved me from making a decision that would have cost me my life. Cheryl has been my coach for over 7 years, through the ups and downs, good and bad. We may not meet every week any more but Cheryl is still there when I need to talk, to give direction and show compassion. I would recommend her to anyone needing direction in their life. She will be there to help in anyway she can.”
